Do you hear that sound? It's the sound of quilters around the world cheering. After nearly three years of pandemic closures, quilters are able to meet in person again! For quilt guild members, that can mean guild meetings, classes, shop hops, or the all time favorite- retreats!
If you're not familiar with retreats, it's just a basic get-together for some uninterrupted quilt time, usually over a weekend! Sometimes there are classes, sometimes you're busy working through WIPs (works in progress), sometimes you're working on a group project. No matter what you're working on- organization is a must. The seasoned retreater has organizational skills that are almost intimidating. A place for everything, and everything in its place. They can make Mary Poppins' bag look like a coin purse. If you'd like to get on their level- I've got just the bags for you!
The Quilter's Project Bag- CA880
The Quilter's Project Bag measures a whopping 13" x 5" x 10.5". It's chock-full of pockets! Inside there are eighteen see-through pockets of varying sizes. The large external pocket is nontransparent, making it perfect for personal items such as keys, hotel card, or phone.
This bag will safely store anything your quilty heart desires: patterns, multiple spools of thread, scissors, rotary cutters, pins, clips, fabric, paper pieces, binding, and more. Most retreaters put in long days in the group room- anything you'd need for the whole day will fit in this one bag! When you get home, no need to unpack! Just leave your project in the bag, and whenever you pull it out to work on it, you'll have it ready and perfectly organized!
Crafter's Companion Organizer Tote CA230
The Crafter's Companion Organizer Tote is a handy option as well. In addition to the sixteen pockets, I particularly like the 4 storage sleeves in this one. They are perfect for the items you need to access quickly and frequently- patterns, scissors, etc. I also really like the elastic storage loops. They'll hold my Frixion pens, fabric chalk, pencils, or thin snips. It's slightly smaller than the Quilter's Project Bag- 11" x 13" x 3.75", but it still has plenty of room for all your needs.
Whether you're traveling to a retreat, a class, or just a day trip with your spouse, these bags will give you plenty of room to haul all your quilty supplies, and maybe you'll even have room to spare for snacks!
